Brand Engagement and Social Media

A new study released today shows the top companies in the US and their use of social media for customer engagement. Most of these companies were no surprise as I’ve encountered their efforts in my travels online. What was a surprise to me was the correlation between company growth and profit and their use of social media to engage customers. Even though the study authors make the point that they are NOT saying that extensive participation in social media directly relates to more growth and profits, it seems that the study clearly points that direction. I’d love to see another study that somehow links some real money numbers to this data.
